In Fall 2018, I taught a first-year writing seminar course on "The Game of Go and Society." I am the fourth professor teaching Go in colleges and universities in the United States (other three are Dave Weimer at UW-Madison, Peter Schumer at Middlebury College, and Ethan Harkness at NYU). My course introduces students the game through the lens of East Asian cultures, gender, sports, international relations, and artificial intelligence. The course culminated in a class tournament with students of Dr. Dave Weimer at University of Wisconsin-Madison.

I have for long argued that sociology should deepen its engagement with environmental issues. For that matter, I have contributed a chapter on environmental sociology in Sage's new Introduction to Sociology textbook Sociology in Action. Please send me an email if you're interested in reading the chapter. I have also written an article in Teaching Sociology about how to mainstream climate change in sociology curriculum.
